The Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board wishes to inform our stakeholders the appointment of Eng. Collins Juma as the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board with effect from 1st August 2017 following a competitive recruitment process.
Eng. Collins Juma, has been the Acting chief Executive officer since 22nd December, 2015. He previously served as Director, Technical Affairs at KNEB in the past four years. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical) from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in Operations Management from the University of Nairobi.
Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board sponsored science and innovation in high schools during the just concluded the Kenya Secondary schools’ Science and Engineering Fair 2017 National Competition. The four day event took place at Allidina Visram High School in Mombasa County from 14th to 17th June 2017 that brought together budding scientists from all corners of the country to showcase their innovations and creativity.
On 30th May 2017, Kenya signed its fourth Country Programme Framework (CPF) for 2017–2022 with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the signing took place at the IAEA headquarter during the 60th International Conference and anniversary to mark 60 years and beyond of the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) contribution to development held in Vienna from 30 May to 1 June 2017.
An International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) team of experts has concluded an 8-day mission to review infrastructure development for a new nuclear power programme in Kenya. The Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review (INIR) was carried at the invitation of the Kenyan Government.
The INIR team in its final meeting with the Government of Kenya stated that the country had made significant progress in its preparations to make a knowledgeable decision about introducing nuclear power. The INIR team also made recommendations and suggestions aimed at assisting Kenya in the further development of its nuclear infrastructure.
The management and staff of KNEB held a team building exercise on 4th January at the Morendat Conference Centre in Naivasha.
Under the themes; inspiration, Interventions, Network, Support, Productivity and Results, the team building focused on various simulations with the aim of teaching KNEB staff a number of lessons that could apply at work to increase their productivity.
